The process of creating a custom painting begins with decisions about style (representational or abstract), and the dimensions and color palette of the piece. If the commissioned work is a landscape (such as family land or a favorite vacation spot), the initial decisions often include photographs of the scene. With each piece of art, a great collaboration with a delighted collector is always the goal.
A painting usually requires 5 to 7 weeks from the date of finalized artistic decisions to the completion of the piece (time varies according to size and complexity). Once the process begins, emails and photos are sent with regular updates.
Prices for commissioned work are similar to the prices for original paintings, and artwork sizes generally range from small (12 by 12 inches) to a larger painting (30 by 36 inches). Paintings are shipped using professional fine art standards, and each work of art is fully insured during shipping.
Commissioning fine art is a wonderful way to create meaning and connection, one that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
